This cookie policy is a practical draft. It must be reviewed after the final host, email service, analytics, consent tool, embedded services, and production configuration are selected.
1. Cookies and similar tech
Cookies are small text files placed on a device by a website or service. Similar technologies can include local storage, session identifiers, tracking pixels, and server-side identifiers. They may support essential operation, preferences, measurement, security, or advertising.
We intend to use the least intrusive technology reasonably needed for the website and to obtain consent before using non-essential technologies where required.
2. Current site tech
The static pages do not intentionally set advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. The contact form handler may create a short-lived server session when a form is submitted. That session supports a brief submission rate limit and helps protect the form endpoint from repeated requests.
Purpose: contact-form security and short rate limiting. The exact cookie name, duration, security attributes, and hosting behaviour must be confirmed in the production PHP environment.
The interactive checklist on the Field Notes page operates only in the current browser page and does not save selections after the page is closed or reloaded.
3. Cookie categories
Strictly necessary
These support security, server sessions, accessibility, requested form functionality, and other operations the website cannot reasonably provide without them. Where permitted by law, they may operate without consent, but they should still be documented.
Preferences
These remember choices such as language or display settings. The current website does not intentionally set persistent preference cookies.
Analytics
These help understand website use. No analytics service is configured in the current project. If analytics is added, the provider, purpose, fields, duration, transfer context, and consent requirements must be documented first.
Advertising and collaboration tools
No advertising cookies or tracking pixels are configured. A collaboration enquiry does not itself enable advertising tracking. Any future campaign technology requires separate assessment and, where required, prior consent.
4. Your controls
Most browsers let you inspect, block, or delete cookies and other site data. Blocking essential session technology may prevent the contact form from working or may affect security controls.
If optional cookies are added, the website should provide a clear consent control that allows users to accept, reject, and revisit choices without making non-essential technology run first.
5. Future tools and changes
Before adding analytics, advertising, video, maps, chat, scheduling, embedded content, or other third-party tools, we should assess whether they store or access device information and update the consent mechanism and this policy.
The updated date at the top of the page is controlled through config/config.js. Material
changes should be communicated in a proportionate way.
6. Contact
Questions about website storage or cookie choices can be sent to Contact email. The temporary business address is Business address.
